Our Story

BR Scented Candles was born out of passion, love, and a little serendipity in late 2024. What started as a simple idea for an upcoming event quickly turned into something far greater—a journey of creativity, healing, and purpose.

As I planned for a special gathering in 2025, I wanted to give my guests something meaningful—a gift that felt personal. Candles seemed perfect. But as I searched for options, my great-niece suggested something that would change everything: “Why not make them yourself?” That one suggestion sparked a newfound passion.

I ordered a candle-making kit, and the moment it arrived, I dove in. I experimented with fragrances, measured the perfect blend of soy wax and essential oils, and found joy in every pour. What started as curiosity quickly became something deeper. Amid the stresses of my career, I discovered that candle-making was more than just a craft—it was therapy. A way to slow down, to create, to breathe.

Soon, my husband and daughter became my first candle testers, offering their feedback and encouragement. Before we knew it, our home was filled with the comforting glow and soothing scents of handcrafted candles. That’s when I realized—this wasn’t just a hobby. It was a calling.

The name BR Scented Candles carries deep meaning. “B” stands for Betty, and “R” for Rosalind—the beloved parents of my husband and me. Their love and guidance shaped our lives, and though they are no longer with us, their presence is felt in everything we do. This business is our tribute to them—a way to keep their warmth and spirit alive in every candle we create.
